About Us
London Drawing began in 2006 as an innovative Monday night class in the galleries of the Tate Modern. We now have life-drawing drop-in classes most days of the week, all day workshops and special events.
Our Story
Where It All Began
London Drawing facilitated Creative Life Drawing Workshops at Tate Modern from 2006 - 2011. These Monday evening workshops were a contemporary take on the traditional life drawing class using the life model as a springboard into ideas and concepts inspired by the art in the galleries and the architectural spaces of this iconic building.
We also ran Studio Tate for two years from 2009- 2011. Over a course of four Saturdays three times per year we focused on technique and materials in a practical, hands-on classes- combining traditional Life Drawing practices with experimental drawing ideas and mediums. These workshops are a contemporary take on the traditional life drawing class using the life model as a springboard into ideas and concepts inspired by the art in the galleries and the architectural spaces of Tate Modern.
